Thanks for another great Cathedral tour! Leon is still on my bucket list, so this was particularly good to read. As you trailed last week, another glazed triforium made possible by a very shallow pitched roof over the aisle. As an Englishman I still think that's a bit heretical... but it is pretty. 😆
Not to give too much away, but if you are going to Madrid/Leon/Santiago de Compostela, both Burgos and Toledo are "in the area" and will appear higher up in my list (ie, they are "better" than Leon). And if the train from Madrid to Leon happens to take you past either Segovia or Avila, both those cathedrals are well worth a visit too.
Amazing piece of photos of an amazing cathedral! The large windows really reminded me of Saint Denis, and a triforium with quatrefoils, as far as I know, is only found in Strasbourg cathedral. 😮

lol. Well, the shallow roof pitch definitely makes sense in the climate here.
Only 2.5 hours from Madrid by train.
Thanks John - would you recommend that or go via Santiago de Compostella?
The train from Madrid is just my personal preference. In general, Spain's high-speed trains are convenient and affordable.
Got it, thanks John - I may well try that route! : )

Thanks for the insight Ben! Eagerly looking forward to the next thrilling installments! ; )
Thank you Ben! Wonderful as always...
